On 6 May 2008, the Department for Transport published the draft Marine Navigation Bill and asked for views on a range of measures that would reinforce the Port Marine Safety Code, improve the management of the General Lighthouse Fund and the powers of the General Lighthouse Authorities and enable the ratification of the International Convention on the Removal of Wrecks 2007.
