Land transport
The Transport Security and Contingencies team (TRANSEC) is responsible for ensuring the security of passengers and staff on the national rail network, underground and light rail systems and in the Channel Tunnel and on the London Underground. This section provides details of those responsibilities and contains information on the team's role in counter-terrorist activities.
Summary report of the ‘LUNR’ passenger screening trials
Following the London bombings in July 2005, and in response to the continuing threat to the rail network, the London Underground and national railway (LUNR) passenger screening project aimed to test the ability of available equipment and dogs to detect explosives, or traces of explosives, in an operational environment.
